Working with Pete could not have come at a more critical time in my life. I was facing several major life decisions and having trouble figuring out what the best direction for me would be. The changes I was facing included giving up a successful career after 15 years and relocating to a new state. At times, I was over-whelmed by the choices I was facing. Through thoughtful discussions with my Life Coach, Pete Barrios, I was able to make decisions that I feel positively about, as well as, to build my self-confidence. Pete helped me to work on envisioning what I want out of life, and why I deserve to have what I want. After working with Pete for several months, I feel empowered to achieve goals I once thought impossible. During our tenure together, I noticed everything I was hoping to achieve began to fall into place. With each new hurdle I faced, my old anxieties and insecurities became less and less a part of the equation as I began to replace them with new visions of a successful future based on the ideals that my husband and I set forth for ourselves. Fear and anxiety have given way to hopefulness and confidence. I could not be more thankful for the opportunity to work with someone as conscientious and knowledgeable as Pete.

| The purpose of my coaching was to gain focus on what, where, and how, opportunities presented themselves for my life in retirement. Pete and I discussed several topics, and focused on where I wanted to spotlight my energies in volunteer opportunities. My comfort level was based around, family, friends, education, and leadership. To that end, I am currently exploring Boy Scouts of America, Green Ambassador for City of Roseville, Child Abuse Program for City of Roseville, while continuing my focused activities with my Church, and Placer County Sherriff’s Office. I have stopped three other volunteer programs that were not meeting the goals we had set forth during our talks. Pete and I explored several topics before honing in on the activities I've listed above. We delved into both person beliefs, past work experience, and spiritual beliefs; to determine what my focus should be. Then we explored how to determine which organizations would provide the opportunities to fit my skill set, beliefs, and convictions. |

My original plan for coaching was to get my two teenaged children to be more responsible for themselves. Pete and I made a plan to help the children learn to do for themselves. With his calm manner Pete was able to get me to take a step back and learn to let others do for themselves and not be responsible for everyone. I was able to use the techniques he taught me for both work and my other personal relationships.
